a) Technology, particularly IT is now at the centre of our workload.
Is technology creating more work for linguists or is it taking work away from them?
Is IT logic used in IT applications compatible with linguistic logic?
Is technology driving prices down and forcing our daily productivity up?
b) CAT tool technology has come a long way over the last few years.
Does it really increase productivity?
Does it really help with quality?
To what extent should CAT tool start integrating MT?
c) MT has also evolved tremendously over the last few years
Do you think that there is any chance that in a near future, a root base machine translation will have an algorithm powerful enough to make translators irrelevant?
Do you think that a statistical based machine translation will ever have all the data it will ever need to generate any translation without the input of a translator?
Nowadays, most MT systems combine both RbMT and SbMT. Do you think that in the future there will be no more translators, only post-editors?
