Dear Romanian translators,

I am trying to find a link or links that explain the \"new/old\" Romanian orthography rules that went into effect in 1990 (or sometime around then) and was wondering if any of you could help out. I dont speak Romanian so this is not for me, it is a favor for my Romanian brother-in-law here in the US- he doesn\'t know the new rules as he has been out of Romania for about 20 years. The links can be in Romanian or English.

· se foloseşte â în interiorul cuvântului
Ex.: hotărâre, când

· se scrie cu î la începutul sau la sfârşitul cuvântului
Ex.: început, a hotărî

· în cazul derivării cu prefixe, se scrie cu î (literă iniţială în cuvântul-rădăcină)... See more
