On my YaWERTY keyboard, which I managed to install several moons ago, there does not seem to be a hard sign, versus the soft or magkij sign, which is located in the upper right-hand corner. Should a Ctrl or Alt key be used in some combination to obtain this character. Unfortunately, I cannot look up words such as ob\emnyj in my electronic dictionary without this character.

hard dign/ soft sign Sep 10, 2003

The hard sign is located on the button, where
+ and * are. the soft sign is on the "m" button.
Of course you must have installed the "Word" version for the Russian language.

Greetings

Sybille

The CTRL + ALT 8 works perfectly. I don't think the other suggestion works in Yaherty, but maybe in another layout such as the one for Word for Window. Funny thing, I keep confusing w and v, when I'm typing blind.
Spasiba!

Some helpful hints for other Russian letters and signs which are not found on the keyboard:

Ё - Ctrl+Alt-9
ё - Ctrl+Alt-0
№ - Ctrl+Alt-5
