Граждане, как в Win98 можно вычистить корзину не заглядывая в нее? Какой-нибудь скрипт существует? Или где в регистрах порыться?

Суть проблемы: стертый по ошибке файл iso размером примерно 700 мега "забил" корзину и та намертво зависает при попытках в нее заглянуть; из-под DOS'a файл не виден, так что этим способом избавиться от него нельзя. Словом, что можно сделать? Скандиск не выявляет никаких lost clusters и тому подобного.

а далее Accessories - System Tools
И выбрать команду "Disk Cleanup". Она сама очистит корзину.
Это первое, что в голову пришло:)

А если это не помогает - то попробовать на иконке Recycle bin правой клавишей вызвать меню, войти в Properties (не открывая корзину), и передвинуть бегунок вправо, увеличив тем самым вместимость корзины

И еще вариант: сходить на www.abelssoft.de,
скачать там шароварную утилиту Purgatio Pro (неплохая прога, между прочим), инсталлировать ее и кликнуть на иконке "Windows tools". Тоже почистит. Да и другие опции будут не лишними: удалит следы неудачных деинсталляций,, двойные DLL, файлі нулевого размера, тээмпэшки всякие. Попробуйте:)

просто кликнуть правой кнопкой мыши по иконке корзины на рабочем столе и выбрать "очистить корзину"?
По идее должно высветиться сообщение типа "вы действительно хотите удалить эти объекты (... шт.)? да нет", корзина при этом не открывается.

Я только-что перешел на ХР, но раньше поступал вот так: вручную чистил папку recycled сответствующего диска. Она скрыта, то есть нужно выставить просмотр всех файлов. Кроме того, чтобы не стереть ничего лишнего, нужно смотреть на размер файлов в корзине.

Любое кликанье на иконке корзины (неважно, правой или левой клавишей мыши) приводит к зависанию.
Фолдер recycled из-под ДОСа выглядит пустым (на всех дисках в нем есть только desktop.ini)
Сергей, я пользуюсь аналогичной Purgatio прогой - System Mechanic. Но он тут тоже не очень-то помог

Начинаются гадания. А если загрузиться в сейфмоде и попробовать все почистить так?

System Tools > Disk Cleanup зависло, правда реанимация удалась через ctrl-alt-del (что в других случаях не удавалось вообще).

If the INFO file is deleted, it is re-created when you restart Windows. If the Recycle Bin becomes damaged and stops functioning, deleting the hidden INFO file in the Recycle folder and restarting Windows may enable you to again access files in the Recycle Bin. The INFO file is a hidden file. To delete the INFO file follow these steps:
1. Open a command prompt window
2. Type cd recycled
3. Type attrib -h inf*
4. Type del inf*

2) Damaged Files in Recycled Folder

Then, restore the Desktop.ini file to the Recycled folder. Note that doing this deletes all files in the Recycle Bin.
If the Desktop.ini file is not present or is also damaged, it can be recreated by adding the following information to a blank Desktop.ini file:

3) Damaged Recycled Folder
The Recycled folder itself can become damaged. Files are moved to the folder and the Recycle Bin on the desktop appears full, but you cannot view the contents and the Empty The Recycle Bin command is unavailable. Deleting this folder and restarting Windows will re-create this folder and restore functionality:
1. Restart to a command prompt.
2. Type attrib -s -h recycled
3. Type del recycled
4. Restart the computer.

Спасибо, Володя, я, честно говоря, в пылу работы попросту забыла о несметных сокровищах скрытых в MS KnowledgeBase.
Поскольку у меня на завтра еще 8 страниц, а уже пол-третьего ночи, я не стану рисковать и экспериментирование с мусорником продолжу завтра.
