You can download it wherever you want, no difference.

I usually download it to My Documents/Download , so I can easily find them if I need to reinstall them. But any other folder will do; installation is the same from any folder.

...siempre se instalan, por "default", en C:/Archivos de Programas, a menos que tú determines dónde.

Greetings.
After you install and start running AVG Free 8.0, be sure to check for periodic updates to the program's definition files.
If your computer already has Norton AV or another anti-virus app installed, delete/un-install that to avoid conflicts and slowing down your computer's performance

This is of course obvious, but because you asked where you have to put the file. You must go to the folder where the downloaded file is and execute it (double click) and proceed until the installation is finished and the icon shows up in your toolbar.
