Scam alert - Overpayment scammer

Hi everyone,

Just had a incident where someone posed as a potential client looking for a translation to be done.
The scammer's email is:

[email protected]

They agreed to the project quote, then sent me a check that was about $2000 in excess of the agreed charge, then asked me to send back the excess because that is for his plane ticket.

Of course they wanted me to send the money back not to Jonathan Cowan, but instead to a

Timothy Henry (who has an address in France).

Big red flag went off, I checked the routing number of the check and of course it is fake.
