Hi everyone, Got a problem with my SDL Trados 2006. A potential client gave me a document, MS Word and TM. The problem arises when I tried to open the MS Word. There wasn't any problem with the TM. This pops up: "(80005): This Microsoft Word document cannot be opened to tracked changes that have not yet been accepted or rejected." This pops up: "(80005): This Microsoft Word document cannot be opened to tracked changes that have not yet been accepted or rejected." I've tried to open the document by opening it up first in MS Word and accepted/rejected the tracked changes and saving that file. After all of this has been done, I tried to open this one, still, to no avail, the same message pops up. Even when the client sent me a document without tracked changes, the message keeps on popping up, again. Please help....thanks in advance. ▲ Collapse
www.proz.com/topic/95215 on same subject maybe Use "TradosFilterSettings" Mar 12 An easier way to do this is is to run TradosFilterSettings.exe, select "Non accepted or rejected changes" under "Word 2000-2003" and check "Process documents with non accepted or rejected changes". Good luck

Save as .TXT in Word. Open the TXT and re-save as .DOC. This way, all hidden data will definitely be gone. If Trados still complains, you have other problems, that are not due to hidden changes. /J
I am not sure that SDL 2006 is compatible with MS Word 2007 | Mar 26, 2008 |
Btw, my MS Word is Microsoft Office Word 2007.
You might need to upgrade TRADOS or downgrade MS Word. I think that SDL 2006 is compatible with MS Word 2007. Daniel

TRADOS uses the version of Word that's installed in your PC | Mar 27, 2008 |

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes but when you open an MS Word document with TagEditor, I think that TRADOS uses the version of MS Word that is installed on your PC, even if the DOC file is not a Word 2007 file. Do you have problems when opening other Word files in the same way or is it only with this specific document? Daniel
