Is there a way I can have Tageditor change every occurrence of e.g. "6.4Kg" to "6,4 kg"? I often translate a lot of numbers, be it kg or mm, and I need to use comma as separator and a space before the unit... and instead of finding a fuzzy match in the TM, I would like to see this done automatically... is it possible?

Hi Tor,

In TagEditor, go into the 'Workbench menu' and click 'Get current placeable'. Your '6,4 kg' should then 'drop' into the right place.

If that does not work correctly you would need to check that your Translator's Workbench settings are correct.

To do so, in TWB you should use the 'Options' tab and select 'Translation memory options' from the dropdown menu. Then make sure that the 'Numbers' box is checked; also check that the comma appears in the 'Decimal symbol' window. If it does not, change it in the dropdown list.

You may also need to check that 'Numbers' are selected in Workbench in the 'Automatic substitutions' options. To do so, in TWB go to the File / Setup menu, then to the 'Substitutions' tab. Check that the 'Numbers' box is checked in the 'Automatic substitutions' list.

Once everything is set up correctly you can get your localized 6,4 kg in TagEditor either by using the Workbench menu (as explained above), or by clicking the arrows underlined in blue (Get previous/current/next placeable) on the Workbench toolbar in TagEditor, or by by using the keyboard shortcut (ctrl, shift, down arrow).

Hope this helps,
Good luck,

(Send me a message if you get stuck).
