Hi folks,

Have you experienced any problems with back-conversion of FM8 MIF files? The workflow is through TTX format, source language is German, target languages Romanian and Hungarian.

Source MIFs were correctly converted, TTX files are correct. Unfortunately, translated MIFs contain some sort of "badly converted Unicode garbage", not the proper diacritics.

Have you set the languages correctly when converting? Mar 31, 2008

I know this is quite a dumb question in your case, but anyway...
Even the best may make some errors sometimes

Everything has been triple-checked
Seems that one of the unofficial hotfixes accidentally solves also this issue, so I have a feeling that SDL hasn't fully tested this new feature (at least with CE language as a target language).

I guess this hotfix is the key to my problem (it solves the issue).
I will get the confirmation in the morning (no FM8 on my machine).

Hotfix fixed one issue, but created a new one. Beware!

Did you report to SDL?
Please do so, as this is very often the only way to make them aware about problems.

Trying to put my hands on PSA Apr 1, 2008

That's completely different issue
I'm trying to get through all our accounts/subaccounts to reach our PSA (it was refreshed lately).

Seems that hotfix fixes diacritics, but some backslashes and other symbols go bananas in variable definitions.

RIP, dear S-Tagger.

Guys (I hope some SDL support people read this forum), you just killed the most stable part of the SDL Trados package. Details later, I need a drink (there are some serious issues in this piece of the software, that's a pity you haven't tested it before releasing).
