icons in Tag Editor (7) are in grey (I cannot use them)

Hello!
As I opened my document, the majority of the icons of Tag Editor are in grey, i.e. I cannot use them. The only one which I could use is the bracket (
Is that a "usual" problem?
Did I miss a tep or something?
or what should I do in such situation?

I have noticed that this problem usually happens after opening a file for the first time.

Save the file, then open it again. Normally, after that you should get other icons, too.

Excuse me if this sounds like an stupid question but, is the TRADOS Translation Workbench running and a TM open?

Yes, it is normal. Just open the first segment (press the "(" button), and the buttons that CAN be used when a segment is open will become active.
PS You cannot save the file when a segment is open, you have to close it first.

Connection to the TM Apr 17, 2008

With Workbench running and a TM open, click on the Workbench icon in the TagEditor toolbar. You will find this icon to the right of the Tag Text size selection icons. This will make TagEditor 'connect' to Workbench. The other icons of the Workbench menu in TagEditor will then become available.
