Dear colleagues,

Could anybody recommend a good font mapping plug-in/filter for both Mac and PC or point me in the right direction if this has been discussed previously. I have SDL Trados 8.0 Professional.
Need that to work with Indesign (.inx) files in non-Western languages.
Thank you!

Elena

Hello,

you do not need a font maping for Indesign.

You can translate the ttx file directly with TagEditor (use the standard Windows unicode fonts) and open the target inx in Indesign. You only need a Fonmts which includes the special characters in Indesign. The easiest way ist to use unicode fonts. Indesign uses th glyph names internal and these are the sames on Mac an PC.

Regards

Hans

Not needed, but nice to have May 23, 2008

Hello Hans,
Thanks for your reply! We understand it is not necessary. But we would like to have it for this one client, to be able to assign which font in target replaces which font in source.
Cheers,
Elena

does anything like Font Mapper for FrameMaker and Font Mapper for Interleaf exist for InDesign?
Thanks!
