i.e.

I've got a text to translate in MSWord and a SDLX TM with lots of vocabulary about it.

Is there a way to convert it? Export it? It would be of great help if I could use it.

Hi Ivana,

yes you can export a TM from SDLX to Trados and vice versa. Proceed as follows:
- Open SDL and the Maintain module
- Open your SDLX Tm in the Maintain Module
- Choose TM > Export> Trados
- Follow the wizard steps
This process creates a txt file which you can then import into a Trados TM via Translator's Workbench:
- Open Workbench
- Create a TM with the same languages as the SDLX TM
- Choose file > Import

PS : one other thing you could do is translate your file with SDLX (I find it much more pleasant than workbench, but then this is another matter...) Let me know if you need some help to use SDLX!

I don't actually know what is the Maintain Module. Do you think it's available in the SDLX lite version?

Hi Ivana,

well in fact I don't think so... I think the Lite version is for translation only. Did the same client provide the SDLX TM and the file for translation?
In that case, they should be able to provide you either with an export of the TM or with an ITD (SDLX translation file format) that you could translate with your Lite version...
