Hello all,

I received a tmx-file (EN-US - RU-RU) from my client.

I imported it in a new Trados TM.

But Russian segments look like this
При первой установке аккумулятора его необходимо зарядить.

I understand that there is a problem with encoding but have no idea about solution.

Could anyone help me to settle this problem?

Thanks

try different encodings Jun 20, 2008

I'd make a few copies of the original tmx, open them in Notepad and use save as to resave in UTF-8 and ANSI. You can try the others for good measure. Then import them one by one and see what happens. UTF-8 is the best encoding out there that contains all the characters computers can display, but trados may not recognize it correctly.
