TagEditor: Apostrophe ends up as "'" in preview screen

Bonjour Forum:

I'm translating with TagEditor and there's this quirk: all french apostrophes are displayed as "'" in the preview screen in TagEditor (V. 2007)

What could be the cause of this? I am not too concerned by it for now as the cleaned files can simply be handled with a "Find/Replace", the apostrophe being a symbol. But it does it with all documents.

Any helpful old salt can pinpoint the cause?

Tag settings in TagEditor Menu before creating a *.ttx file Jun 21, 2008

I always set special symbols, ASCII, ANSI, European and other character set codings to convert before import file to create a TagEditor file (i.e. *.ttx file).
Go to Tools> Tag setting > Special symbols, and select character sets you want TagEditor to convert them corectly.
This will prevent labor on later stage e.g. cleaning up.
