Hi all,

I've just purchased SDL Freelance2007.
And it appears to has problem with placeable word.

Every time the workbench finds placeable word in my word document, an error occurs.
It shows error message saying, 'Previous request not yet finish'.
And the sign '-{}-' will appear in front of TU.

I've tried to reinstall the whole bunch of Trados, but the problem is still exist.

By the way, for TU with non placeable word, Trados is working fine.

Any idea on how to solve those problem?

I really am desperate and the deadline is waiting for me.

Thank you for any coming advices,
Fern

**I use Trados on Window XP, with Microsoft Word2003

“Fix the document” (Ctrl-Alt-U)? Jul 29, 2008

(If I had one euro for every Trados error that has popped up an extraneous -{}- into a Word document, then that would easily offset the purchase price.)

Does “fixing” (Ctrl-Alt-U) the document help?

Try to recreate your Normal.dot Jul 29, 2008

This behaviur might be caused by a corrupted Word document in first place.
Try if it occurs also in other documents. If yes, than something is wrong, if not, then only this particular one document is corrupted.
Should you have a general problem, close Word, go to c:\documents and settings\current user\application data\microsoft\templates and rename the Normal.dot you find there to xNormal.dot. Then restart Word - it will recreate the Normal.dot then. If you have any autotextes or macros or other customized settings in your Normal.dot, use the function "Organise" to copy them to your new Normal.dot. Refer to Word help how to do this.

The best solution for both cases is to use Tageditor, where such errors (and many other) will not occur at all.

Best regards
Jerzy

Still not working;( Aug 4, 2008

Thank you so much for your answers.

Unfortunately, the curly brackets issue is still existing.

And I have just found out that my TagEditor is not working, too.
Every time I type translation into TU box, the program suddenly shut itself down.

So, nothing in the program is working for me.
What a great purchase ;(

I'll try to reformat the whole computer and install just Trados and Microsoft stuffs.
Hopefully it will be alright then.
