Can anybody tell me how to select only the untranslated segments in Tageditor? Thanks
You can create a file with the untranslated segments | Jul 29, 2008 |
Analyse the TagEditor file (therefore first open it with TagEditor and save it as a ttx file) with the Workbench and when it has finished select the button: Export unknown segments (you can choose several formats but if you want to translate them in Word you should select RTF). Is this what you wanted? It would help if you told us which version of Trados you are using.

Hi Marijke, thanks for the reply. My question was indeed a bit brief. I use Trados 7 build 615. I am working on a ttx file that is sooo large that it takes ages to go through. So I would like to have an option to view / edit only the segments that I have not worked on before. The solution you describe does not seem to solve this Thanks Frits
Agree with Marijke | Jul 29, 2008 |
As already mentioned, you should export unknown segments into a temporary file, e.g. 'untranslated.ttx'. Then you translate this file, and your translation in stored in the TM. After that, open the original large ttx, select 'Tools > Translate' and check the '100% or higher math value' and 'update document' options. This way you apply your translation to the original file. This way, you can quickly go to those segments. Daniel
And if you have to take a break / leave for the day... | Jul 29, 2008 |
...you can place a comment in the last segment you worked on (for information on using the comments feature in TagEditor, please refer to the online help.) This will allow you to jump to that spot whenever you are ready to resume your work. HTH, Benjamin

Open Next no 100%/Get | Jul 29, 2008 |
With the "Open Next no 100%/Get" function in TagEditor's Workbench menu, you can skip all segments that have been pretranslated. This will only open segments that are fuzzy or no matches. Is that what you're looking for? HTH, Benjamin

hi Benjamin, yes I know that function, it still does not deliver untranslated segments in my case...
In that case, I'm afraid I don't quite understand what you're trying to achieve or what issues you have with your file. Sorry.
