Trados version: SDL Trados 2007 - version 8.0
OS: Windows Vista (Spanish)
Office: 2007

Hey everybody:

I just bought SDL Trados 2007 (version 8) since my other version (7.5) didn´t work with Office 2007 (thanks Bill...).

Version 8.0 gives me problems when I try to clean a file and up until now I have to clean it with the Clean-macro. When I use the Clean-function in Workbench the software cleans 97% of the file and then I get the below error message. The problem is that I get the message in Spanish (have Spanish OS, Windows Vista).

I also get a similar error message when I try to connect Workbench with Multiterm 7. I get this error message when I click the option "Term recognition options..."

I thought this would be a problem with the license but it seems like this is NOT the problem, have double and triple checked the license and it should be OK.

Anyone who can help? The problem seems to lie in "TradosBasis.dll", what is this?!

The English translation of the error message would be something like:

TW4Win.exe - Point of entrance not found

"Could not find the point of entrance for the procedure ?v_Format@CT_String@@QAAXPBGZZ in the library of dynamic links TradosBasis.dll."

WorkBench - error message when cleaning:
**************************************************************************

TW4Win.exe - No se encuentra el punto de entrada

"No se encuentra el punto de entrada del procedimiento ?v_Format@CT_String@@QAAXPBGZZ en la biblioteca de vínculos dinámicos

TradosBasis.dll."

**************************************************************************

Workbench - error message when opening Term recognition options:
**************************************************************************
TW4Win.exe - No se encuentra el punto de entrada

"No se encuentra el punto de entrada del procedimiento ?v_Set@CT_String@@QAEXPBGI@Z en la biblioteca de vínculos dinámicos

TradosBasis.dll."

**************************************************************************

Would you please repost the error messages in English? Aug 13, 2008

You just need to change the language of your Workbench to English for that.

You may want to edit the title of your posting Aug 13, 2008

I think many people who could have helped you will skip your posting, thinking it is in Spanish. I stumbled upon it accidentally myself. Maybe if you add "Error message:" before the rest of the title, it will help site users understand that you are looking for help in English. Better for you, because more people will look at your posting.

All the best!

Try to post a translation of this error message then Aug 13, 2008

This is an WB error - so it should appear in English as far the WB is set to English.
Nevertheless, you could also post a translation of the message.
Otherwise many of us (me included) have not the slightest chance to help you.

Please try to register the software Aug 13, 2008

Please go to the installation folder of SDL Trados and find there a subfolder called "TT". Within you'll find a program called "SelfRegister.bat". Right click on it and chose "run as administrator" (or similar).
Then go to the Multiterm installation folder and find "#_SelfRegister_Desktop.bat". Let is also run in the same way.

BTW, when installing SDL Trados on your Vista machine you hopefully did perform the installation in the same way - I mean right click on the installation program and running it then as administrator?
