I can't open SDL Trados Filter Settings

SDL Trados Filter Settings won't open in my computer. When I try to open Filter Settings from the Trados folder in Start Programs, I get an error window:



When I click on Continue, the settings are empty:

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.


I uninstalled and re-installed Trados, but that didn't fix anything. I'm trying to fix a problem with the Pagemaker settings--the the PM tags are read as translatable text. The only fix seems to be deleting the *.txt extension in Filter Settings Application. But everything's empty. I need to translate a couple of files in Pagemaker; so far, I've been translating the text manually but I'd rather do it in TagEditor.

I couldn't find anything in Talisma (big surprise!) and I have no idea what else to do. Any suggestions?

Solution in SDL KB now available Sep 7, 2010

Hi, I just had the same problem as Claudia had 2 years ago, and now the SDL KB has an article about it, with an attached patch to fix SP2 (Jerzy's link from 2008 in the other thread is down). The problem is that the original filter settings program can't handle more than 2 GB RAM.
