XML standard

TMX is not a Trados file format, but a vendor-open XML standard for exchanging TMs. I don't work with SDLX, but there should be an option to allow you to export as TMX. Alternatively, you could export the translation segments as plain text.

Yep.
This may be obvious Karen, but if you don't have a TMX format TM yet, you will need to create an (empty) TMX file first, so that SDLX knows where to export it to.

I have no 'maintain' button on the SDLX toolbar.

I need to turn the .mdb file into a .tmx file so it can be used with Trados.

Bash the icon

If you click on the SDLX icon on your toolbar, the 'dashboard' will open up on screen. 'Maintain' is on the right.

new problem- translation memory only gives one language option
Oct 3, 2008
Thank you to everyone who has replied, and especially Chris-I did as you suggested and reached 'maintain'. The new problem I have is that when I open the appropriate French-English translation memory (using the TM option from the drop-down menu) it insists that I can only use a Spanish-English TM. How can I change the language setting?
