Workbench not finding any matches - Hebrew/Yiddish problem?

I am translating in TagEditor from English into Yiddish (though Hebrew is the closest match I can select as the target language), but Workbench is not finding any matches, even though the source text is very repetitive. This is the first time I have used TRADOS with Yiddish (and I am still rather new to it in general), so I don't know if my problem is language-specific or more general.

I have set my filters as wide as possible, but it makes no difference. Has anyone encountered a similar problem (and solved it)? Thanks,

Lena

Workbench is always searching/comparing the source Oct 28, 2008

so the target makes no difference (at least IMHO).

What is you minimu match value setting?
Is the text tagged?
How big is your translation memory?

Check TM with maintainance Oct 28, 2008

When I had this kind of problems, I could figure usually figure it out by browsing through the TM with the Maintainance (File > Maintainance ...)

Hardly any TM yet Oct 28, 2008

Thanks for your replies. I changed the match filter from 70% to 30%, without any success.

Yes, the source is tagged, but as this is the first document I have translated into Yiddish with TRADOS, the TM would only include about 10 translation units I have already translated in the same document. Workbench even fails to recognize the immediately preceding unit, even though the text is virtually the same. Am I missing something?

Lena
