Hi,
Could you please help me abot the following problem:

Have just reinstalled Trados 2007 (Build 835) in Windows XP and working with Office 2003.

I open Workbench, select a TM for my project and when I trye to open TagEditor I get the following watning:

"TagEditor has detected that Translator's Workbench is not running. Would you like to start it now?"

Hope you can help me sort this problem without reinstalling again and again this annoying and frustrating software.

Try all possibilities: close Tageditor and then reopen it, close Workbench and reopen it, close both, and open Tageditor first (in which case the system will propose to open Workbench, as you wrote; choose "yes").
It has happened to me, too, that WB and TE did not communicate because there was some problem when opening them, but reopening always solved the problem.

Hi Attila,

Have tryed all your options but it seems they don't communicate with each other.
Alla attempts to start TW when asked by TE failed.

Have you gone in the Tool menu of Tad Editor and tried « Connect to Workbench »?

You have probably already thought of that, but I just want to make sure.

Problem resolved Oct 31, 2008

Thank you Attila and Marie-Stéphanie for your suggestion.
In the course of this afternoon I received an email from Trados sauing that the SDL Trados 2007 Suite was available for download.
You can guess that whis was the first think I did and "upgraded" the previous version: the problem was gone!

Hi Sherefedin,

I have also received the message from Trados today.

I am using Windows XP, Word 2003, and Trados 2007 (SP 2), as you are, but I am afraid of encountering problems with the upgrade.

Did everything went smoothly for you?

Strange enough (quite unusual for trados): no problems indeed. Oct 31, 2008

Salut Stéphanie,

Actually everything went wel and without any strange warning.
I am very glad I didn't have to reinstall the whole thing as at every new installation Trados involves the strangest corners of the pc to change settings and roots.
