Hello,

I would like to use multiterm while I am using Tag Editor and Trados.
I followed the steps explained in the user guide, i.e. :

To enable Word to work with MultiTerm you must add the MultiTerm template and menu:
1 In Word, choose Tools > Templates and Add-ins.
2 Under Global templates and add-ins, check if the TRADOS template named
MultiTerm7.dot is already in the list. If you cannot see the TRADOS template, click

Hello,

Add.
3 In the Add Template dialog box, browse to the location where this template is stored.
By default, it is stored under C:\Program Files\TRADOS\MultiTerm\Templates.
4 Select the template and click OK to add it to the list.
5 In the list, activate the check-box next to the MultiTerm7.dot template and then click OK

My problem occurs in the step 3, as I don´t find the template. There is no template with this name. The only thing that appears in template is Trados.

What should I do?

Thank you

Got a termbase? Nov 17, 2008

Do you have a termbase to open? Some new users believe that TRADOS does something automatically with Multiterm. I am not saying you think likewise but, just in case, it does not. You have to create your termbase o termbases from your glossary or glossaries. That is the first step. But for that you need Multiterm Extract, which must be purchased separately. Search the forum, there is plenty on this subject.

Multiterm installs itself Nov 17, 2008

Hi Marion,

You can convert any dictionary that you have into a MT termbase - follow the instructions in Jerzy Csopik's Multiterm tutorial - should be available in the forum's database, if not I can email it to you.

....

...look across your system for multiterm.dot. If you cant find it, then maybe answering the following questions may help us help you:

a) can you use MultiTerm standalone?
b) what version TWB and what Version Multiterm do you have?

re Convert, I dont think it is an issue, but if it is, let me plug my introduction into MultiTerm convert. Go to my profile and look it up (under Useful downloads) or start simply here:

http://www.textnart.de/downloads/MultiTerm_Convert.zip

Download the ZIP file and unpack its contents, then click on the
MultiTerm Convert.html. You will see a movie, about 7 minutes
long, on how to use the program to create a MultiTerm database
from an XLS file.

Trados doesn´t come with Multiterm Nov 18, 2008

Thank you everybody.
It seems that Luisa is right. I think my version of Trados doesn´t come with Multiterm. I thought it came with the program.
Thank you
