I'm translating with Trados 8; a French > Italian document.
TM supplied by the client.
Anytime I accept a segment to pass to the following one, I see that sentences over a brown background in the bottom of WB.

This is not th efirst time it happens.

How can I solve this?
Thanks
Lucia

Have you tried to reorganize the translation memory (Files > reorganize)?
Have you tried to export the TM and rebuild it (ibidem)?
Have you called the client?

Hint: "this is not the first time..." information is no big help. Much more useful is statements like "it happens with every segment" or "it does not happen when" etc.

regards

Vito

Active Term Recognition? Nov 18, 2008

Hello Lucia,

This mainly happens when active term recognition is running in the background with the wrong settings. I would recommend turning off Active Term Recognition, if you are not using it. Or, check that the settings are correct in the Active Term Recognition options.

1. Open Translators Workbench
2. Go to Options > Term Recognition Options...
3. Make sure these settings are correct (especially the source and language options)

Also, if you are accessing a termbase then try reorganising it (as Vito suggested):

1. Open Multiterm 2007
2. Open the termbase you wish to use
3. Go to Termbase > Reorganise Termbase...

I hope this helps.

Many Thanks,

Gareth Powell

Same problem as Lucia Dec 28, 2008

I have exactly the same problem as Lucia. TM was provided by the client (it is empty, but the client intended it to be empty (I asked), multiterm db probvided by client. However, it is not possible to reorganise the termbase. Everytime I try this, multiterm sort of crashes and I get the message that the program is not responding anymore. I tried it 9 times, to no avail.
Does anyone have more suggestions to solve this problem?
