Hi everybody!

Just a quick question: has any of you recently upgraded to SDL Trados Suite Freelance? I'm considering upgrading, but I'd like to hear from anyone who has already done it first!

What do you think of it?Pros and Cons?

Thanks to everyone!

Have a nice day!

Romina

Con: no serious progress after 2007 SP2
Pro: all the post-SP2 hotfixes are included (it's rather annoying to apply 'em manually, some of them are really important)

Pro: you may take a look on a working version of Passolo
Con: the Passolo Essentials is unusable in a normal localization workflow.

Pro: it's probably the latest "legacy" Trados version, this kind of "legacy" version may have a long life on the market.
Con: if your clients use "legacy" versions and the Word workflow, no difference at all.

Pro: machine translation in the IT-EN/EN-IT pairs.
Con: the machine translation makes translators lazy

IMHO, if you have T2006 or earlier, it make sense.
If you have T2007, it's not mandatory unless your clients have it.

Cheers
GG
