I have a stupid question about SDLX. I am learning to use it. So far, when there are repetitions in one text, it translates them OK. But I have 2 very similar texts, and then nothing happens when I open the 2d one, using the same Translation memory. What am I doing wrong? Thank you.

Automatic TM update in SDLX
Jan 23, 2009
In SDLX the TM is not updated automatically by default, you have to set it.
To do that: From the menu select Tools -> Options. Select the Automation tab and check the Automatic TM Update checkbox.

It works, thank you! And while we're with it, how do I start building up a glossary in that system?

Termbase
Jan 24, 2009
Hi Jacek! Obviously, you have to create the termbase before you can use it. Do so in the SDLX Control Panel (click TermBase). Alternatively, you can create a termbase in MultiTerm and use it. I personally prefer MultiTerm, as it is fully compatible with both SDLX and with Trados.

Compatible?
Jan 24, 2009
Did I write "fully compatible" in my last post? Well, to be more precise, not even Trados is "fully compatible" with Trados. So take the "full compatibility" with a pinch of salt.
