Importing .xls file as a TM?

I have quite a big project with a "bad" Trados analysis, 4,326 segments and only 6 repetitions. What I do have is 3 excel files from a former translation, they are in separate columns, and there's loads of them! Is there any way to make these a TM? If not, does any other program support this?

Can you work with SDLX/ Multiterm? Jan 27, 2009

If so, you can very easily import those xls files as glossaries or even convert them into TMs. If you are limited to Trados, that won't help...

Thanks Vito, PlusToyz worked, I don't doubt that your solution does as well, Attila. However, I'm kinda new to Trados, is there really no function for adding all the segments into the TM without hammering on Alt-Num+?

Clean up Jan 27, 2009

If you have a Trados bilingual file, just clean it up in WB (Tools / Clean up), and everything will be added to the TM.

Save as CSV or tab delimited TXT, and use a free utility, CSV Converter from Maxprograms to make a TMX file. Any CAT tool should be able to import a TMX file.
