Hello,

I'm trying to open a .doc file. It was converted from a pdf. file ans is now a .doc file

I have to open it in Tag Editor.

However Tag Editor says "the file type is not recognised" - error 8003.

But the file is visible exactly as a .doc
Remark: TRADOS opens it when running Word - but not when running Tag Editor.

Tahnk you in advance for your support.

Maria Folque

You have to enable the TradosTag workflow for doc files Jan 29, 2009

Hi Maria,

before you can translate your doc file in TagEditor, you have basically to enable the tool that will enable TagEditor to handle it. To do this, open Translator's Workbench, then select Options>translation memory Options. In the Tools tab, check the "TradosTAG XML workflow for Word .doc files" box. One this is done, open your file in TagEditor. Hope it helps,

Annelise

Enabling the TradosTag workflow for doc files Jan 29, 2009

Hi Annelise,

Thank you very much for your clear explanation. I've followed your instructions and found out that this function was already enabled in my computer.

It must be some problem with this specific file. All other doc. files open in my Tag Editor.

Thank you again.
Maria

Have you tried disabling the tracked changes feature in MSWord ?? Jan 29, 2009

Accept or reject the changes before opening the file with TE.

Also check this:
open the Search feature in Word. Click over the "More" button. Write "^b" in the "search" field.
Now click on "Highlight all elements...." then "Search all" and replace those you found with a space.

Try again with TagEditor

Best regards from "el Étor"
