I'm translating an Indesign file . I need to do it with Trados. What are the step to convert properly the Indesign file to a text file and then to convert the file back to Indesign.
I used the format .inx . then opened the file with Tag Editor and now the translation is done. How do I convert my file .ttx back to indesign format (not just.inx, but .indd?). how do I need to save the .ttx file, as target or as bilingual? or is there a way to import the translation in the original indesign file?

Thank you very very much to anybody that is able to help me.

Many have had problems similar to yours:

You can read about it here and hopefully find a solution:

Especially check out the answers from SDL Support.

You must first save target as (.inx), then open the .inx file in InDesign and save as .indd.
Well, in many cases, it is not so simple, problems may occur but let's don't talk about them now.
