Hi, I can´t see the blue and yellow box in word when translating. I don`t know what should I do.
Are they compatible?

Lo digo tambièn en castellano. Tengo el word 2007 y el tradoas freelance 7. No me aparece la cajita azul para empezar a traducir. Es como si no estuvieran conectados. Son compatibles?

Thanks a lot
Merci beaucoup
Muchas gracias
Muito Obrigada

Julieta

Which version? Feb 10, 2009

Which version of SDL Trados are you trying to use? SDL Trados 2006 (7.5) or SDL Trados 2007 (8.x)?

You simply don't... Feb 10, 2009

SDL Trados Freelance is NOT compatible with Office 2007.
Save the docx in Office 2003 format and open it in Tageditor - this is the only way it may work.
Even if someone will say it could work, don't expect it to work flawlesly.
These versions are really incompatible.

SDL Trados Support... Feb 10, 2009

Hello Julieta,

Trados 7 is not compatible with Office 2007. It is possible that your older Trados7.dot template copied over to Word when you installed Trados 7, so you may see the Trados menu in Word. However, the templates are not supported by Word 2007 and so will not work properly.

If you would like to run Translators Workbench and Word 2007 together then I recommend you upgrade your software to SDL Trados Suite which is compatible with Word 2007.

I hope

It is not compatible Feb 10, 2009

And because of that, I had to reinstall Word2003 again.
It is possible to have both versions installed on the same system.
However, you should install Office2003 first, then Office2007 (customized install)

Does any version of Trados work flawlessly?
Sorry, I'm just being sarcastic once again...

Thanks!!! Feb 10, 2009

Thank you all very much for the advice. I will get trados suite then, since I´m madly in love with word 2007 and hate the older version.

you can use Feb 10, 2009

Trados 7 Freelance + MS Word 2003 (with MS Office Compatibility Pack), thus you can open .docx files and use your version of Trados.
