my workbench converts .doc into .rtf automatically when i want to clean a .doc file.
What should I do in orderr to clean a .doc file and have it clened as a .doc file ?
could someone help me ?

Maria, another RTFM issue. Workbench converts your doc documents into RTF and then back to doc. The file conversion is necessary in order to clean the document up.

Trados needs to work with rtf files and does this conversion automatically for the process. Check your folder and see that even though they are saved as .doc

I assume you use ms-word to translate doc file: 1. Press Alt + F8 2. In macro name, choose: "tw4winClean.Main" 3. Click "Run"
This hidden macro will clean doc file in ms-word and will preserve all formats. However, using this method: 1. No BAK file will be created automatically (so, back up manually). 2. it will not update TM (you can save as your doc file before running the macro and use it exclusively for update purpose).
