Hello, I also bought the pack Trados+Multiterm. However, I chose to use SDLX for now.
I would like to remove the Trados tab in my Word 2007 top menu. Is there an easy way to do this?
The reason I want to remove it is that it changes the way Internet hyperlinks appear in my texts. It show the whole information about the links and not the underlined short description initially put by my client ex: { Hyperlink: http//... }. This is annoying!!

If this is the only reason to leave Trados aside...

well, then I'm puzzled. Did you never hear about the function "Show field codes in Word"? This is amazing... but maybe you simply check at Tools - Options - View if the "Show field codes" option isn't selected by any chance? And BTW, when you use Tageditor, no such and other problems will occur.
Happy translating Best regards Jerzy

Thank you for your answer. The problem is not the field codes. I think I have to delete some file somewhere in order to remove the Trados tab for now . I may be using it later.

Two options:

1. Remove Trados8.dotm from your Office12/Startup folder; 2. Remove Trados from your system entirely.
However, if you're not using Trados right now and "may be using it later", I suggest you leave it in your system. Installing, uninstalling and reinstalling is not what Windows like.

I found 2 trados8.dotm files and erased them both. The Trados toolbar was removed, but the hyperlinks are still displayed the wrong way. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks again for your help!

Field codes as suggested by Jerzy

Hi France, I suspect this is a Word settings issue. Try playing with the field codes a bit.
