Hello everybody,

I have a problem with the CharacterEntities in TagEditor. I'm translating some .xml-files.
While a bilingual document is open, The special caracters (e.g. ó, á) are displayed normally. When I save the target file (so only the source-language-file), the special caracters are sometimes encoded (e.g. ó ) (but not always, even if I'm using the same .ini-file for alle the documents). But they should not be encoded, otherwhise the CMS where I have to put the files are not accepted.
In the Tag Settings Properties the field "Convert entities" is not activated..

Thank you for your help

Major parts of information are missing here Mar 19, 2009

You did not provide any information about the languages you work with.
Was the ini-file created by yourself or by the customer?
Why do you NOT convert language specific entities?

Hello!

The translation is form French to Spanish.
I have created the .ini-file myself.
And the caracters shouldn't be encoded because otherwhise the CMS where I have to insert the files does not accept them (as mentionned in my first post).

Can you tell me more now?

I'm not an expert on xml, but... Mar 21, 2009

what you mean, are entities and they are "converted" by the ini, not encoded.
XML is an open platform standard, which uses Unicode.
Obviously your CMS does not. Or maybe you simply try to recreate the ini, but select "convert entities" and chose then proper groups of entities from the list?
Please give it a try.

Best regards
Jerzy
