The SDL Trados tab in my ribbon in Word 2007 has just disappeared. Any ideas how I can get it back? (Freelance 2007)

try adding it manually Jun 1, 2009

a) Click the colour Office ring at the top left.
b) Click "Word options" bottom right. (NB I have Czech version, so English terms may be a bit different.
c) In the left menu, click Add-ons.
d) From the drop-down menu at the bottom of the main window, choose Templates and click Go.
e) Check whether the Trados dot file(s) are checked.
f) If there is no Trados.dot file visible, click Add and locate the dot file wherever you have it.

It might be necessary to update the Office/Startup folder content, but let's see...

Did this help?

The correct file extension is DOTM.

I took that as part of "dot file(s)" set. As long as it displays the element for me one way or the other, I am happy to lazily skip thinking about any difference. Bah, you spoiled my sweet ignorance.

Oh, sorry about that. Ignorance may sometimes be the best way of protecting oneself from the stupidity that surrounds us.
