Hi everybody,

I have installed Trados 2007, and one of my clients has sent me a TM, saved as a TXT file. However, I'm unable to import it into Trados TMs. When I run the "import" operation, all I get is a message stating "0 Translation Unit read, 0 Translation unit imported".
Of course, there are many TUs in this TM (more than 4,000 TUs).

When I have imported TMX TMs in the Workbench, everything worked fine.

Can anybody tell me:
1°) How I can solve the problem and successfully import the TXT file into Trados TM;
2°) If there is a software to convert TXT TMs into TMX, because maybe, if I'm lucky enough to convert the file into a TMX, then I'll be able to import it just like any other TM.

Many thanks in advance,

Best,

Coralie.

check languages Jul 2

Check the SL and TL in the TM being imported and in the TM you import into.
"0 segments imported" may mean that none of them meet the language criteria of your TM.
Open TM in Notepad.

Use XBench to override the SL and TL in the TM you go from the client.

XBench converts ANY top ANY format.
