Trados changes format (both in source and target)

Hi

I'm working on a Microsoft Word document with Trados. The source segment is in bold, when I type the translation and press ALT +, Trados automatically changes the format (the letter and it takes out bold), both in source and target segments. And finally the segment remains with a different format than the original one. Do you know how to solve this?

Thanks for any help.

common problem Nov 10, 2009

Check out this thread: http://www.proz.com/forum/sdl_trados_support/43683-why_does_trados_change_fonts.html
or any of many other related threads, it has been dicussed quite a lot since this is a very common "problem".

And a very quick piece of advise would be: try using TagEditor instead of MS Word.

Good luck!

Tag Editor or... Nov 10, 2009

try converting the .doc file to .rtf file. It works sometimes. But Tag Editor is for sure the best and quickest solution.

Good luck!
