Hello everyone,
I am new with SDL Trados Studio 2009. I don't know why but I cannot open it anymore, when I try I have the following error message: "an unexpected error has occurred while loading the application plugs-in." And then "hexadecimal value 0X00 is an invalid character, line 1, position 1"
I switch off and switch on the computer but it still does not work. I really don't know what I should do! Can anyone help me?? Moreover, I have half of a translation in the program and I really do not want to lose this work! It is quite urgent as I have to have the translation ready for tomorrow!
Thank you so much for your help
Best Regards,
Fabienne
Please I really need some help! I have uninstalled and installed again SDL Trados Studio 2009, and still have the same error message!
Can anyone help me?
Regards,
Fabienne

My search gives the following instruction. Let's try it.
Delete the following file:
C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\8.5.0.0\ plugincache.xml
Then restart Multiterm.
In the case of the same problem with Studio, delete the parallel file:
C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\9.1.0.0\plugincache.xml

I got the plug in error after a blackout and then when openingh the error the same message you are all mentioning. I have lost a delivery today and Im about to lose another one and being a single mom, this is really hurting me. I have had similar issues in the past in another computer and at times was able to correct them but this time I canot find the files you are all talking about. I have windows 7 and I dont have the same folders (no document and settings, just program files or my documents).
Please can someone help me...been without sleep for 2 days trying to solve this thanks | | | |

Dear Beatriz,
To find the file we talk about, type "plugincache" or just "plugin" your research tool (the one with the reading glass, that helps you to find files and folders). You will see the files appear then just delete them.
I hope this works,
