Hi, I have this error in Workbench when trying to translate in Word 2003. (OS: Windows XP) I didn't use the program for about 3 months already, but I don't think that could be the problem. Also, when I click the Terminology Recognition Options, the multiterm version that appears is Trados 5 instead of Multiterm 8. It doesn't let me to change it. The OK option is shaded. Thank you in advance, Isabel

may bring a workig installation of MultiTerm to fall. Please go to MT installation folder - ít is on HDD C: in folder program files, sdl international and so on. I do not have this MT version anymore, so I can't tell the exact path. There you will find two *.bat files with "self register" in name. Double click the one without the words "not silent" and let it run. Check the behaviour of MT afterwards. I hope this will bring you the MT functionality back.

Hi Jerzy, I did it more that once since I found it first in a different place, in All Programs from the Start menu. It seemed that it fell, I mean, that it didn't finish its work. Then, I used the path of My Computer as you told me, I found the same one, and I did it. Unfortunately, it did not work. What do you think? Should I contact SDL to ask them fix the problem? Thank you very much. Best, Isabel | | | Jerzy Czopik Germany Local time: 08:55 Member (2003) Polish to German + ... Do you have also Studio installed? | Jan 5, 2011 |
You write MultiTerm 8, this would be MultiTerm 2009. Sorry I've overseen that. Do you have Studio? Version SP3? Installed the latest cumulative update? | | | Isabel Conde Argentina Local time: 03:55 English to Spanish + ... TOPIC STARTER
I have Studio, but never used it. I also have the SP3. The version of Workbench is from 2007 and was sold together with Studio. I mention Multiterm 8 because it is what Workbench says in Options> Term Recognition Options. Under the Termbase tab there are two options: MultiTerm 5 (Trados 5), which I can't move it from there, and Multiterm 8, that doesn't allow me to put it. So...That's the story. | | | Jerzy Czopik Germany Local time: 08:55 Member (2003) Polish to German + ... Can you please use this file? | Jan 5, 2011 |
Start - Programs - SDL - SDL Multitterm - Side-by-Side tools - Activate MT 2009 or if that does not help Repair MT 2009? Should you not have those listed in Programs from Start menu, go to your hard disk, open the programs folder, locate the SDL folder, locate the Multiterm folder inside, then go to Side-by-Side tools folder and double click first _Activate2009.cmd and if that does not help the Repair task there. If those do not help please return and report.

Dear Jerzy, I looked thoroughly from the Start menu and in Program Files. On the latter, the computer showed me, in the help folder, a Side-by-side screen shot, but there is no way I can find the folder itself. Also, I found two Activation Wizards, but with the .dll extension. About the Repair task, where is it?, maybe you can give more explanation about that. C:\Program Files\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTermSideBySide\_Activate2009.cmd If that does not help, use this one C:\Program Files\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTermSideBySide\_Repair2009.cmd | | | Isabel Conde Argentina Local time: 03:55 English to Spanish + ... TOPIC STARTER
Sorry Jerzy, I did this before. When I double click SDL MultiTerm, the only folder that I get is MultiTerm8, when I double click it I get a bunch of folders and a bunch of applications, but none of them are a Side-by-side folder. I could send you a screenshot of it if you believe that it could help. I think it is either no there or it is very hidden. I looked also in the Start menu. That's bad luck for me, as I do not know how to install those and have to say I cannot help here anymore - out of ideas.

So, I guess I have to contact SDL. It is a very bad thing that because of an update or something similar the program becomes useless. Thank you very much, Jerzy. I hope they can fix this problem. Best, Isabel
