Hello,
I have translated a Word document that has been aprroved by the final client.
They have sent me an XML file version of the previously translated document and they want me to produce the XML version of it.
I have the TM and I want to use it, but I have no idea how to translate the XML file using Wordfast Pro or Studio 2009.
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance | | | |

You have TM, XML file, Wordfast Pro or Studio 2009.
Just translate. | | | |

Before you open the file there, go to Tools - Options - File types.
Click New on the right side.
Select XML and click OK.
In the field "File type name:" replace the text (Replace with name of this file type) by a name, click Next.
Select the option "Define settings based on INI, ANL, XML, XSD or ITS rule file".
Click the Browse button, show the XML file which you need to translate.
Then click Next until you are finished with this wizard without changing any other settings.
Now open the XML file and apply the TM.

hello,
I had the experience to use Studio 2009 to translate XML,
However, the first time I translated too much because I could not isolate 'text' from other items like comments because the processing by Studio 2009 of the DTD provided by my client didn't work.
Next time, I had to separate manually 'text' from other items before translation.

I tried it but when I clicked Next an error message apprears "The selected file is not a valid import format". I am now doing it manually. Search TM, copy and paste.

In that case it is not your fault.

How do you translate XML files in Trados 2009?
I tried but after the translation I couldn't open the files, only displayed a blank page...
Thanks in advance. | | | |

open file, save as SDLXLIFF, translate as usual, finalize.
Where's the problem? | | | |

The problem is that the translated text does not appear when opening the file.
