Can I work on a Transit NXT project with SDL Trados 2011

WYSIWYG text

Yes, you can change this. At the moment this is just wysiwyg text relating to the contents of the source document, so it looks similar to the preview, which in this case is actually an instance of word inside the preview window.
You can turn off the wysiwg if you prefer the van driver look

Dear Van,
Actually Transit offers several views, there is no 'one van driver look' as you kindly state it:
- PDF view
- Markup view with long markups
- Markup view with short markups
- Markup view with numbered markups
- (Nearly) full WYSIWYG view, even in FrameMaker and InDesign projects, including tables etc.
- Combinations of these views

Hi Hans,
Ok - I'll stop with the vans, I was only kidding. This is a Trados forum and this thread should really have been moved a long time ago I think. Although it is quite interesting as Transit really is an application I have never seen the need to look at before so I haven't seen it.
We have the same in Studio apart from the PDF. This sounds interesting. Does it create a PDF in final format for all filetypes? We have a ViewIn facility where as long as you have the application required to render the file it will create the target as currently translated.
Regards
Paul

but I cannot confirm what you request.
It's really a personal taste.
I think it is time for me to confirm again I do not like Transit (but I indeed liked the vans) and that there is no force in the world which would bring me to love it at the moment.
Studio works perfectly (nearly) for me, so I keep hoping that Studio will be made a little bit better these days...
Stay well and have fun using your favorite tools - so shall I do.
Best
Jerzy

I must admit that I also get a big grin on my face ever time an old Ford Transit passes me.
, I was only kidding. This is a Trados forum and this thread should really have been moved a long time ago I think.
I don't think so, personally:
I think it is very useful to compare CAT tools on features. Even better when developers read this and scratch their head.
IMO many CAT tool developers focus on Project Management too much. Simple target box editing functions have been neglected for many years. Luckily there are exceptions, e.g. www.cafetran.com, that has amazing features to facilitate working exactly at the place where the hard work has to be done: in the target language 'box'.
But I won't start a thread about CafeTran here.
Although it is quite interesting as Transit really is an application I have never seen the need to look at before so I haven't seen it.
So I thought. A lot of people don't. Just wanted to get the facts straight.

PDFs of the source files, that is! MS Office, FrameMaker, InDesign.
