If I do a translation using SDL Trados Studio 2011, will someone with Studio 2009 be able to use the files I send them?
Possibly a question which falls into the stupid bracket, but then I am new to Studio 2011, and to Trados as a whole.
Thank you for your prompt replies!

Yes, you will create an sdlxliff in 2011 Starter and someone with 2009 will be able to open it. TMs are also compatible.
The only thing that isn't compatible is a project created in 2011, but in the Starter version I don't think you can create a project, so that won't be a problem.

Hello,
I'm a new user of Trados and I'm interested in buying the Starter version.
I see on the website that it is possible to open packages with this version, but will I also be able to create a return package for the agency?
Thanks for replies,
Valentina | | | |

I can confirm that you can create a return package in Studio 2011 Starter Edition and this can be opened as a package by an agency who uses Studio 2009.
I would check with your particular agency or agencies though before investing in the software.

Thanks a lot Allison, that's good news!
Have a nice day,
Val
Another question: with the Starter Edition is it possible to create a Report View, where you can see repetitions and fuzzy matches? I'm not sure about that...
