Does anyone know where I can pick up a copy of Trados 2007 or 2009 for cheap? I need the manual also. Where is the best place to get a legitimate, licensed copy? I have never used it, but need it for a project...any ideas?

SDL Trados Studio 2011 free 30-day trial Apr 11, 2012

If you want it for just that one project, you might want to use the Studio 2011 free 30-day trial.

According to their web page you get some sample files and tutorials.

Here is the link to the page you can download the software from:

Become a vendor to SDL Apr 11, 2012

You might try to become a vendor to SDL and get considerable discount. You can also hunt for bargains (here at proz for instance), but the prices are roughly fixed. Studio 2009 or 2011 will pay off soon anyhow IMHO.
Best
