(80001): Translator´s Workbench Error: Aunahmefehler des Servers

When I open Tag Editor the following error message appears:

(80001): Translator´s Workbench Error: Aunahmefehler des Servers

I have Trados Freelance 6.0, I don´t understand the message content "des Servers"???

I am also not able to open a segment on an rtf document anymore.

I already reinstalled the Workbench several times.

Can anybody help?

But go some segments further and try then.
This happened to me recently too and the only soultion I found was to skip the segments, where it occured.
Sometimes copying the whole text to a new file helps.
I even tried to autotranslate such text (as the segments which caused the problem were allready translated (mostly), but had different numbers in them), but guess what - Workbench crashed on them, not only once...

For a pity I did not have time to describe the whole situation and contact Trados. I'm going to do that later, perhaps they find something.

A few things to try Jul 27, 2004

Hi Daniela,
I don't think reinstalling would help here; I have seen the error message in several scenarios: this could be a problem with the TM, for example. In this context 'server' refers to a process, not to a network server.

- Which version of T6.0 are you using - build 309 or 310?
- What is the database version (File - Properties)?
- Have you tried to reorganise the TM?
- If that doesn't cure, it, try exporting the TM, create a new one (don't copy the database definitions) and import the TUs.

What kind of RTF document are you working on? Is this a tagged RTF file?

this problem today. After rebooting my computer I could continue my work.

Repair Aug 23, 2010

I clicked "Repair" for Trados Workbench in the System Control. Worked the first time, but then the problem reappeared. The second time, I clicked "Repair" for Workbench and SDL. It's working again, but who knows for how long.

SDL did not answer my query, just sent an automated message. Apparently, they think they are not responsible for faulty software if you do not have a support contract.

more details on formats you are working with..
This is an error, which has been rectified in the meantime, at least in most cases.
