Dear,

Please, could you tell me how to to type directly the letter "À" (French) in SDL Trados Studio 2011 (uppercase character, with emphasis)?

Thank you.

Best regards.

ALT codes Dec 15, 2012

That would be ALT+0192 for À and ALT+0193 for Á.

HTH,
Erik

Shift+F3 Dec 15, 2012

You can also type à and then uppercase it with shift+F3 or use QuickInsert and define it as a shortcut.

Note regarding ALT codes Dec 15, 2012

Pardon me if you already know this, but you have to make sure that Num Lock is on if you wish to use an ALT + numeric ASCII code entry.

Alternatively, use Keyboard Settings (globally, on your operating system) so that you can easily switch to French (or any other keyboard layout that you are comfortable with which features (capital) grave A single-key entry functionality), e.g. by using Left Alt + Shift to toggle between installed keyboard languages, or by clicking on the box in the operating system toolbar and selecting FR, or by directly switching to (e.g.) French keyboard by entering (e.g.) Ctrl + 1.

Alt + 0192 is "À", Alt + 0193 "Á".

The 1st is the right.

"Shift+F3" is probably the easiest.

Thank everyone!
