Registered the software version you're using? Nov 15, 2004

Hi Eñaut,
First of all, as a quick-fix, you may want to use the tw4WinClean.Main macro, which forcibly removes the source segments and tags in your file. (Note that your TM won't be updated in this way, so it's advisable to take a copy of the uncleaned file before executing the macro.)

The error is "2147417851, the server threw an exception".
Word file, Tradoss 5.5 and 6.5.

This could be caused by using a non-registered version (registered referring to your registry). Did you register the version you were using on this file?

Best regards,
Ralf

Thanks Nov 15, 2004

Thanks a lot, Ralph.
Yes, I have a registered version of Trados. Thanks for this trick.

"Registered" does not mean "official" (at least not in this context) Nov 15, 2004

Hi again,
Yes, I have a registered version of Trados.

I don't think we're talking about the same thing here. I'm not referring to a 'registered version' in the sense of a fully-licensed copy.

When using multiple versions of Trados on the same computer, you must ensure to register the version you're using at any time before using it. See this article from the Trados Knowledge Base for details.

HTH, Ralf

You're right Nov 15, 2004

Oh!!! I think you've found the problem. I use two versions of Trados on the same computer and they are probably de-registered. Thanks a lot.

Any documentation of macros? Nov 23, 2004

Ralf,

I found your hint very helpful, as I struggled with a similar problem. But generally the question: I have seen a lot of macros besides the one you talked about. Are these documented somewhere, so that they can be properly used in case of "emergency"?

Thanks,

Rita

Not really... Nov 23, 2004

...the vast majority of these macros cannot be used in this way.

Best,
Ralf
