Hello,
After I translate a segment and move on to the next one, the one which has just been translated only appears in French. Probably something very silly to do, but what?

Yes, you probably have the following options toggled off.
Tools > Options > Hidden text and All
Hidden text and All must be toggled on if you want to see the Source too.
