Solution to Java problem Nov 1, 2014

Thanks a lot, Sabine.

This link works: http://kb.sdl.com/#tab:homeTab:crumb:7:artId:5589.

I have just imported the attached zip file, unzipped it on C: disc and run the 'Re-sign for MultiTerm 2014.exe' program. After restarting Trados, the Termbase took off again. I think this is much better than downgrading to Java 7.

Temporary solution until SP2 Nov 9, 2014

I believe SP2 will be released sometime in November.

I used the workaround on this page (as mentioned above) to resolve the error warnings:
http://kb.sdl.com/kb/?articleId=4956#tab:homeTab:crumb:7:artId:5589

However, I want to mention that AVG came up with a warning:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/q37twl4xuxpuk2i/avg-warning-resign-multiterm.png?dl=0

I ignored the threat and later had to disable AVG in order to be able to run the download as administrator.
Trusting SDL here, I hope my system won't be compromised with this action, but MultiTerm is now running without further errors. I put the security setting of Java back to high (minimum recommended).

Looking forward to SP2 and independence of Java.

Multiterm + JAVA Edit Problems (JAVA Security) Nov 27, 2014

Finally there is a REAL solution for Edit-Problems with Multiterm, caused by missing Security Certificate for Multiterm + !

Problem:
a) Multiterm + Java up to 7.55
Workaround: Java Security to Medium + Multiterm-Editor file into exception list.
Worst case, at least this allowed you to use Multiterm by klicking "OK" in three
subsequent windows (per term).

b) Multiterm + Java > 7.67 (+ 8.x)

b) Multiterm + Java > 7.67 (+ 8.x)
No workaroung: Security level "medium" removed + file on the exception list
using file://... is just rejected and not resolvable

Solution: Link: http://kb.sdl.com/kb/?articleId=5589#tab:homeTab:crumb:7:artId:5589
(SDL Support Info!)

With this approach, you download Re-sign_for_MultiTerm_2011.zip file, extract and run it.

This reinstates the missing security certificate to Multiterm.

No more JAVA Settings-Workaround required.

Checked with:
SDL Trades/Multiterm 2009 and 2011
Java (Java) 7.67 and
Java(Java) + Java(Oracle) 8.2.

Re-sign solution for SDL Trados 2009? Jan 23, 2015

Is there a re-sign solution for SDL Trados MultiTerm 2009 as well?

Studio 2009 is not supported anymore (nearly 5 years old). You can't expect SDL to provide a solution for this.
