Using MultiTerm widget in Trados Studio 2015. Starting today, when I try to add a term, I get: Disk I/O error during read. This has not happen before and I have not changed anything in my system

Your problem does not seem to reside in Studio, nor in the Operational System, but in the hardware itself (the physical media in the disk). You don't state what your OS of hardware configuration is, so I cannot suggest you right now which program to use for checking the disk. Saludos

Im using Trados Studio 2015 under Windows 7 which runs as a VM Ware virtual machine under MacOS (Yosemite). It was working until yesterday and no changes have been made to the hardware, software.

I moved the termbase to another disk and the problem persited. I created a new Termbase which is working correctly. I guess the Termbase got corrupted most probably in the Access databse file (I HATE ACCESS) Is there a Termbase rapir tool? Is there a way to transfer my more than 500 terms in the corrupted database to the new database?

There is a free app in the App Store called Glossary Converter which can be used to convert a Termbase to another format. You could try to convert your "corrupted" Termbase to another format and then import it into a new Termbase. Ben

Thanks Ben I tried the app, it can't read the corrupted nor the working file. I tried to merge them and it didn't do it either.

Hi Alberto, Have you tried to open the Termbase in MultiTerm? If you can open it in MultiTerm you could export it from there. Ben

I tried, Multi Term 2015 desktop says: the termbase cannot be opened because it has been created in an unsupported version of MultiTerm when it was created in Trados Studio 2015

Have you tried opening your Termbase in other CAT tools such as Wordfast memoQ or CafeTran? Is it a big TB? Can you see the terms in TB viewer?

Ben: I can't see the terms in Term Base viewer as I can't open the term base Walter: I've seen that article and it basically says you can have the error by not having SP1 in Windows 7, but I have it installed.

When my TB got corrupted, I was not using Term base Desktop, actually it wasn't even installed in my computer. I installed it an it can't open the files.
