Word 2003 / Trados Freelance 5.0.1.: Outdated document template?

I have Microsoft Word 2003 and Trados Freelance 5.0.1.

I have tried to use the TRADOS5.dot template that is installed in the TRADOS\T5_FL\TT\Templates folder. But when I try to open any translation segment, Trados gives me an error message:

Outdated document template (TW4Win2k.dot or earlier). Please use current version TRADOS5.dot.

Is this an incompatibility problem, or am I still doing something wrong?

Thank you for your help,
Jarno Hakulinen

Upgrade to T6.5, or use an older Word version Apr 19, 2005

Hi Jarno,
Trados 5.x does not support Office 2003 - you will either need to upgrade to T6.5.x, or use an older Word version, e.g. Word 97 or Word 2000.

HTH, Ralf
