Ctrl + S of no use in TagEditor when a segment is open ?

Well, my title is clear enough...
I work with 6.5.5.441.

I had already seen that the title of the ttx-file open in TagEditor is marked with a *-sign when translating, and that this sign disappears only after closing a segment and pressing Ctrl+S to save the changes.

But today, after TE crashed three times in an hour, I have understood that no changes are saved when pressing regularly Ctrl+S with a segment open : I had to run the TM over the whole file to recover m... See more

But today, after TE crashed three times in an hour, I have understood that no changes are saved when pressing regularly Ctrl+S with a segment open : I had to run the TM over the whole file to recover my translation when I reopended my ttx, although I use to press Ctrl+S every 30 seconds.

Is there a way to save the document without being forced to close the segment, save and reopen a new segment ?
Or am I doing something wrong?

PS I just noticed that Ralf is talking about it in the previous topic : the work in the file is not saved, but the contents are saved in the TM. That's clear, but annoying though, don't you think ?

That's how it is, you can save the document only if no segment is open. There is no autosave either.

Using a macro recorder like MacroMagic you could assign Alt+End, Ctrl+S, Alt+Pos1 to a hotkey.
Or do it manually every 30 seconds..
