I received a Trados TeamWorks job from an agency (offlince, importing zip) - my first Temaworks one; I started working on it on my desktop, but now I need to move it to my laptop, take the work with me, and put updated work back on the desktop later.

How shall I do it?

Is moving the files between the workfolders enough? Or should I export to a Teamworks zip on the desktop and import from that zip to the laptop?

Is moving the files between the workfolders enough? Or should I export to a Teamworks zip on the desktop and import from that zip to the laptop?

The project is big, and the deadline is short, so I cannot afford to experiment and possibly lose the work or not to be able to use the "laptop part of it" when I put it back on the desktop.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

TeamWorks? Jul 12, 2005

Hi Antonin,

Do you really mean Trados TeamWorks or do you mean Trados LSP (Team Edition)?

For Trados LSP or Freelance: Copying the files to translate and the TM (5 files) to your laptop should be enough.

Kind regards

Thank you for your advice, even though it is not an answer to my question.

Moving TeamWorks projects Jul 13, 2005

Hi Antonin,

I am no expert at all, even if I work a lot with TeamWorks, but I think you need the original zip file (not the exported one!) and the work folders on the other computer (your laptop). Then it should be enough to replace only the work folders when you put it back on your desktop again.
That's what I would try (but I would maybe test it with another project first and back up the files before overwriting again).

Please let me know if it works out. Maybe

Please let me know if it works out. Maybe one day I will have to do something similar...

Greetings, Linda
